  • 1 oz melon liqueur such as Midori or honeydew-flavored liqueur
  • 1 tbsp honey preferably liquid honey
  • 4 oz sparkling wine chilled, such as Prosecco or cava
  • 1 small honeydew melon for balls and garnish
  • as needed ice cubes for chilling and serving

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or stirring glass
  • Strainer
  • Highball glasses
  • Melon baller or small scoop

Method

  1. Cut the honeydew melon in half and scoop out small spheres using a melon baller to create decorative melon balls.
  2. In a cocktail shaker or stirring glass, combine the melon liqueur, honey, and a handful of ice cubes. Shake vigorously until well mixed and chilled, about 15–20 seconds.
  3. Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled to the top with fresh ice, leaving room for the sparkling wine.
  4. Gently pour the chilled sparkling wine over the mixture, allowing it to bubble up and stir slightly to combine the flavors.
  5. Drop a few melon balls into the glass for an attractive garnish that complements the drink's vibrant colors.
  6. Garnish the rim of the glass with a small slice of honeydew or a sprig of mint for added visual appeal.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer, enjoying the bright aroma and bubbly, refreshing texture of your Honey Deuce cocktail.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, substitute sparkling water or soda and omit the liqueur.
